The Joy of Motherhood
Motherhood is hard….real hard. Just when you think it will get easier the next stage brings struggles and challenges of their own.
Sleepless nights, dirty nappies and toilet training make way for kindy and school along with arguments about school work, school lunches, P&C meetings, fundraising, sport, music lessons etc etc etc. Before you know it come driving lessons *insert screams here* and just when you have the hang of them driving then they get their licence, a car and head off…..ALONE. The 5 minutes before they are due home seems to last an hour and there is nothing quite like the feeling of hearing that second hand car pull into the driveway.
Along with the challenges are blessings…..many blessings. There is nothing like that first smile, giggle, crawling, first steps, the gentle touch of your childs hand against your face, hugs, morning snuggles, night time games of snakes and ladders. Then the next stage comes and there’s the pride in watching them play cricket, football, learn an instrument, learn to read, graduate.
While the challenges are many the blessings even more and in the blink of an eye they grow up, leave home……but the challenges and blessings will never leave you. So hold your little ones tight, give them that extra kiss and celebrate the amazing blessing of being a mother.
